Jerry, I have had copies of my greencard before. And it was unacceptable by the local popo. I was threaten to be picked up by immigration, got slapped, abused with no excuse and whatnot by the good old american popo. Is it my fault I look like a Latino/Mexican and profiled. I'm half Chinese. Scare tactics don't work on a person that has grown up with fear on a daily basis. So what if immigration picks me up. Once they see my file, I will get released. Waste of time and tax money. At the same time I can sue if I really wanted too. But that would make me a typical American that likes to sue anybody for anything. Anyways, if the police have all your criminal record on file in their car, why can't the FBI/immigration have a link with the Popo to see even more info. In this day of age, you can't tell me that it's not possible. It's BS for an underlying issue.
370 bucks for an ID card. Give me a break. Construction guy or farm help can't cough up that kinda money on time. This country is build on immigrants, needs immigrants and at the same time don't want them. This is the point of view of most fellow immigrants.

So there are two options in my eyes about the ID issue.

1. Reduce the fee and most won't care carrying the ID with them.
2. Have BrianG work out a program to link the Immigration/FBI files with the police.
