I like the idea. We have remote start in our 1:1 vehicles now so why not our R/C toys as well. We just got our new van in Decmeber with the remote start feature and we love using it. Of course it comes in handy for warming up the vehicle on very cold mornings. Especially with the electronic seat warmers, but it can also be a lot of fun scaring the bejesus out of people when they get too close to our van. I can not wait to do that here, where this type of van is extremely uncommon. In Korea people were amazed to see our van because they are just not sold that much over there, and I would catch older couples looking into the windows to check out the interior features. SO I would hit the start button and give them a shock as the vehicle would start up with no one at the wheel. Pretty funny stuff. Actually we were told that having this feature here in Prague is illegal. I guess they are affraid of remote vehicles due to the terrorist aspect of our world today. But of course there is not much they can do, because it is a built-in feature of the vehicle and we are under diplomatic status.

Anyway for the price of that switch why not try it out. I to hate having to bend down and flip a somewhat hidden switch on my toys to turn them off & on. It would be nice if when you turned the radio on the vehicle would turn on automatically. After all we are in 2011. We have come a long way from having to flip TV channels on our old consal TV sets. Even a door bell was like magic to us as kids, and now they have wireless door bells. I say go for it, and shre your experience with us once you figure it out. Good luck with that.

Somehow I want my 3000watt, 4hp peak brushless motor to have some sort of tangible on/off switch. It just makes me feel better...

I am sure that some people feel the same way about their 200-500hp 4000lb vehicle to, but that is the price of progress. Build it better and safer than ever before. Progress is the norm of any society and we get to choose to be a part of it, or sit by and just watch it happen. I have also seen where people in our hobby have said that speed is just too dangerous as well, but we are going faster, higher, and beyond any comprehension of those same people from years past.

I remember watching a video about the early years when the automobile was first being produced and people thought it was black magic and how it was going to kill many people. Well they have, and still progress continues to move ever forward. Just look at the first vehicles compared to what we have today. You can not stop progress, and you can surely watch it from the side lines if you wish. I had a neighbor ask me if I was not afraid of my van because it could start with just with the touch of my remote. I just laughed and asked him why he would think that? He was just astounded that I could start my vehicle from afar, and he felt that it would turn on me and could do something evil. So is this your feeling as well? Remote start is something that has been around for nearly as long as I have been alive. Technology is finally catching up and is allowing us to use it in ways that was only a dream years ago. I also love our automatic opening doors and remote hatches. I guess that scares some folks as well. Thats really too bad. I relish technology and what it provides for us, and I am surely not going to sit back and just watch it from a distance when there are so many new opportunites coming our way. Don't be afraid of it, just respect it, and use it with caution.
