Tenshock X803 - 8 poles - 05.10.2011, 01:58 PM

"The new 1 / 8 motor being Design X803

8-pole structure 12 slot tilt

Should be more smooth" - Tenshock

The X801 and X802 series have already gotten a good reputation from what I've read. Seems like they are extreme torque monsters, so this should be no different. The X802 is rated at 3500 watts!

I know some people here who have good results with 6 poles x801, used with the Mamba Monster and 20° timing. According to them, it's very smooth and efficient. But can the Mamba manage a 8 poles motor ?

Brushless, what else ?

It can run them, but the RPM is the limiting factor, how fast the ESC can switch the FETs. Each time you double the poles you lose half your max RPM. If the MMM can spin a 4-pole at 80k max RPM, an 8-pole would be 40k max RPM. Those are just examples I made up, not sure what the real values are. I think the true values can be found in the Castle section somewhere, not sure what thread though.

The way I see it they must test these Tenshock motors using ESCs that are similarly (or maybe even less) capable as the MMM, so I don't see any issues for most people. Most applications will be between 30-40K RPM.

No clue on price yet. They have some 8 pole helicopter inrunner motors with open cases here though; http://tenshock-motors.de/Tenshock-B...-Pole-TSCZ2760

Quite expensive.
