I like the idea of using these cells to power an inverter but they're still expensive for that. I can get a marine battery to serve the same function and I have to imagine that an average marine battery has more than 10Ah and costs considerably less. Weight isn't an issue if it's sitting on the floor under my work bench!

Cost is an issue for me too and what you said makes perfect sense.

Curiousity got the best of me on this one. I've been wanting to experiment with these for a long time and finally found a good deal. $139 for the pack.

The shelf life is one thing that is very appealing to me.

If these do what they claim, it's a 10 year battery.

SLA trolling motor batteries only last me about 2 years.
