You don't hear of too many ppl breaking them. I broke the threaded end off one early on but that was landing on a rock after some serious air. Since then nothing in too many runs to count. I have a suspicion though it might be to do with the shock tower supports. They keep the shocks lined up correctly. With the amount the tower can bend its bound to put stress on them.
