I watched a vid of the HPI E-5sc 4wd and it seemed to handle alot like the Savage 5t vids I've seen. It landed very "light", 2 wheeled pretty easily, and kinda bounced around a little like the Savage 5t. Sounded an awful lot like a MMM and a 15 series motor, they have a pretty distinctive sound under braking. I'd bet money its not Baja based and am leaning towards Savage instead of Buggy style.

As far as the Losi 5sc goes, I'm not sure where the 37lbs came from, but I would think it weighs alot closer to 30lbs. Not trying to doubt anyones internet info speculation, but an all alloy (and I mean everything is 7075 alum) Hurrax 1/5 monster truck tips the scales at about 35lbs. Can't see the Losi with alot less aluminum and more plastic with smaller tires weighing the same or more as the Hurrax.

The Losi is on the larger side of 1/5 scale though, very close in size to the Baja. The Redcats are 4-5 inches shorter in wheelbase alone, no beadlocks, center spool instead of a diff, etc, so it is expected for them to be lighter.

Definitely was not based on the Baja. From what I could see through the rear window the battery cases were looked like the E-Revo setup. I couldn't get a good look at the chassis, but it looked much flatter than the Savage.

The shock damping was very light. They even mentioned that was on purpose to help with true desert type conditions. I imagine if you ran at a groomed track then you'd add damping to increase consistency.

More interesting info!!! Next you'll tell us you have pics through the back window but have been holding out on us (just kidding). I'd be really surprised if they designed a completely new layout for a 1/5th scale 4wd and made it lighter than their 2wd (that's why most are guessing it's Savage-based). I'm not doubting your observations at all - it's just hard to figure.
