Man now that is a loaded question. Try doing a search on here for MAXAMPS and see what you find. There are not too many fans in here for sure. As for a comparison I would have to say that anything at all would be better than a battery with a flame sticker on the side. Nanotechs are just fine and well worth what they cost. You can buy two or three nanotechs for the price of one Maxamp pack, and get twice the usage from them.

I had two 2S 6000 mah Nanotechs that puffed a bit when used in a E-Revo Brushless. I had one 6S 3000 mah Nanotech puff in a T-Rex 500 Helicopter. I had 4 tiny 1S 300 mah Nanotech lipos fail miserably in a micro heli. I am not a fan of Nanotech lipos because of all these failures on the ones I had, no matter how cheap they are. Ever since I started flying RC helis, I've been looking around at what the pro flyers use. 3D heli flyers abuse lipos more than in any other kind of RC, on par with some extremely high performance RC boats. And for those 3D heli pros there seems to be only two kinds of lipos, Thunder Power for the richer dudes and Gens Ace for the less fortunate dudes. I'm a less fortunate dude so I'll be going with Gens Ace when I get new lipos.

No brain, no headaches.

+1

It's Gens Ace for me, too. I've been pleased with a number of their packs in various sizes. I was able to data log a set in my large scale truck a while back and saw a nice, low ripple voltage:

I have 2 puffed nano-tech 45-90C 5000mAh 5S. They were good batts for the first 10 discharges and then started to puff. I have been using them in a high power rc boat that pulls about 10C of current from each pack. I run them 5S2P. Now I have two brand new gens ace 30C 5S 5300mAh and I'm running in them for the first 4 or 5 discharges.
