Man now that is a loaded question. Try doing a search on here for MAXAMPS and see what you find. There are not too many fans in here for sure. As for a comparison I would have to say that anything at all would be better than a battery with a flame sticker on the side. Nanotechs are just fine and well worth what they cost. You can buy two or three nanotechs for the price of one Maxamp pack, and get twice the usage from them.

I had two 2S 6000 mah Nanotechs that puffed a bit when used in a E-Revo Brushless. I had one 6S 3000 mah Nanotech puff in a T-Rex 500 Helicopter. I had 4 tiny 1S 300 mah Nanotech lipos fail miserably in a micro heli. I am not a fan of Nanotech lipos because of all these failures on the ones I had, no matter how cheap they are. Ever since I started flying RC helis, I've been looking around at what the pro flyers use. 3D heli flyers abuse lipos more than in any other kind of RC, on par with some extremely high performance RC boats. And for those 3D heli pros there seems to be only two kinds of lipos, Thunder Power for the richer dudes and Gens Ace for the less fortunate dudes. I'm a less fortunate dude so I'll be going with Gens Ace when I get new lipos.

+1
It's Gens Ace for me, too. I've been pleased with a number of their packs in various sizes. I was able to data log a set in my large scale truck a while back and saw a nice, low ripple voltage:

GensAce will be releasing "65"C lipo's soon and I'll get me a pack to see if it's really better than their older 40C stuff which I'm a fan off. GensAce 40C packs have very low resistance can be charged at high C rates. Check the review section.

I had two 3s 25C 6000mah nanotechs. They puffed about 2mm but what didn't like the most that they started to disbalance below 3.4 V/cell. I still have one pack and it keeps showing stability. The other one has two dead cells (it had a light crash but it wasn't a sudden death, it happened in a bout a 3 months).

I use the Nanotech Hard Case Lipos (6000mah 65-130C) but I'm pulling 150 amps at most so I guess I'm not stressing them.
I have bought one Gens Ace Lipo, a 5000mah 40C 4s for my SC8e which I had been running a Turnigy 4500mah 30C. Max amps that thing has ever pulled is just shy of 100, but the Gens Ace pack blew up like a balloon after one run (split the case)
...so from my experience, the Gens Ace packs suck!

I`ve got 8 of the 5s 5000mah Nanotech`s.. 4 25C, and 4 45-90C..
Used in my RC8T cc1520 geared for 80km/h, in a 60" airplane as 5s pulling 70A max, and a 78" airplane in series as 10s 5000mah pulling 90amps constant at max throttle..
Not one of the 8 batteries has puffed yet at least, and i`m very happy with them so far..
But i guess Heli`s pull alot more amps than this, since they demand that much battery power?

So here we go, just like any other lipo thread anywhere else on the web, someone asks what's good and ends up more confused then before they asked the question.

Dragracing is all about burst power. So high amperage(Torque) capability is what you desire. Second keeping the voltage(horsepower) as high as possible under that burst power.
