Its not needed the ESC and motor are not stressed under 60mph...
It just adds extra complexity - Unless you go fancy on brakes they are likely to overheat themselves. Personally I direct wire the servo to the BEC and have the ESC power the RX. I makes it easier for connecting to the castle link. |

I run the hitec servo and motor brakes, NO bec and NO problems.
It's "Dr. _paralyzed_" actually. Not like with a PhD, but Doctor like in Dr. Pepper. |

I think I may test without mechanical brake and see if it will be good.
You've tested so it should go fine. And it's much easier to connect everything. Thanks |

I also run a hitec servo off the esc, which makes things much simpler.
People have been running "HV" servos at 7.4v because 7.4 is a bigger number than 6. A hitec servo at 6 volts is plenty strong enough to turn the wheels. People just like to brag about bigger numbers. It's "Dr. _paralyzed_" actually. Not like with a PhD, but Doctor like in Dr. Pepper. |
