The thing that is funny about remarks like that (meaning people saying how they like the sensored feel of the RX-8) is that the great majority of the time, probably 99%+, the RX-8 is running in sensorless mode. It just uses the sensors (when available) to start the motor. Once the car is moving faster than a walking pace it is pure sensorless. That's not even something you can change with the software: the RX-8 has no "sensored only" mode like the Tekin RS/RS Pro and the Castle MMP.

So what you are really liking about about your RX-8 is the programming that gives a different throttle feel than the Castle ESC software. ...and maybe the current limiter, if you use it.

What ever the differences are I like the feel much better than the MMM. Now, I had been a die hard castle fan for more than a decade. I do have a MMP in my daughter's Ten T and I do like the the way that feels but, not as much as the RX8 . If castle made the new MMM like the MMP, I would certainly buy it over Tekin.

I guess we really cant go wrong either way when it comes down to it as the technology has vastly improved over the last decade.

I call dibs on your 1520 when you upgrade to tekin

Also, different versions of firmware give a different "feel" to the MMM, it might be worth trying other firmware versions. (I think 1.24 was a good one IIRC)

I have both Tekin and Castle, actually more Castle. Sensor end is nice for one simple reason. When my rig is rolling backwards I don't have to wait for it to stop before I can go forward. Say I case a jump and its rolling back down, I have to wait for it to stop before it will go, this has been every Castle setup I've used.

I know, there will be plenty of people saying that is untrue but whatever, that's always been my experience. I know the general Castle to Tekin ratio on this forum but felt like I had to post that.

The new esc looks good though and I'm sure I will end up with one.

I actually am running the 1.24 software in my truggy and I like it for that truck. For my buggy the Tekin setup is the best IMO.

And Harold...I am keeping the 1520 until it blows up!!! I did have 3 at one point and sold 2 so that's all I have left. The 1520 is one of the best motors Castle ever made
