Wheelman, how long did you leave the aluminium parts in the draino for. I am going to give it a go but a little worried that the draino will eat the aluminium

Don't leave it in very long. It does eat aluminum, I did a shock body, when I put the spring adjusting collar back on it would spin freely on the body.
