Is this fixable? -

Rejoined 1/8 land and got Castle quality.
The windings look like there a couple of loose strands, the rotor pretty much exploded. Is this fixable with a rebuild kit or is it a bin job?

I had one that looked worse than that. Tekin rebuilt it. I thought it was trash. The armature had come completely apart and you could pull the shaft out.
Send it in, worst they can do is charge you for a new motor.

I can see them re-wrapping the rotor, but the windings are pulled out of the can. You may get lucky enough to have a rebuilt motor sent back to you, but it won't be that one. It's always worth a shot to try. CC is pretty good about warranty replacement even if they really don't have to. It all depends on what caused the failure and if they are in a good mood when it gets to the factory. Knowing CC you would probably get a rebuilt motor as a replacement. Better than nothing at all, right?

2-3 weeks to ship it in, $20 post, then 8-12 week waiting period in repair, and whatever costs, then return freight, another 2-3 weeks and another $20 post, and even then it's subject to CC quality controls which is half the issue here.
I'll pass, let this be another example of Castle Quality!

Nice troll-job. For having such bad luck with CC you sure do seem to keep buying their stuff.
Built Ford tough, with Chevy stuff.

fastbaja5b, why do you insist on repeatedly posting such things? I mean it is painfully obvious what you think of CC, yet you apparently still buy their stuff judging by your avatar. Do you have a driveway full of Pintos, bin full of Integy parts, and pile of puffed MA packs just so you can say how junky they are?
Even if CC stuff was junk (which it's not), it is the definition of insanity to continue to use/buy products you don't like. It would be one thing to buy something, have it not work/break/burn up/explode, and then complain about it. But you do this over and over and over again ad nauseum. I simply do not understand this asinine behavior. Sheesh, my four-year-old has more sense than this.
In this particular instance, the motor rotor broke and damaged the windings in the process. It happens to the best of us - although these gremlins seem to afflict you more often, but whatever. Call CC and see if they'll help you out. Simple. And if you do get it replaced under warranty and don't want to use that particular motor, simply sell it on CL or eBay and go buy the magic product of your choice.

Brian I have a feeling what you've said will fall on deaf ears. He only posts here to get a rise out of people. He has explained nothing about the setup the motor was in or how it came to grief. I wonder if it's even his motor, just used the pics for the purpose of trolling. Best thing to do (aside from ban him) is just completely ignore him. Most people on here must realise by now he's just a troll.
