Help! I've got no reception! -
05.19.2006, 05:36 AM
Kinda weird. My E-Maxx just all of a sudden started getting no reception past about 10 feet. The reception is great and every thing is normal as long as I am within that 10 foot radius. As soon as it goes past that, it just stops, no steering, no throttle no nothing.
I have a 9L and a 9920 with a UBEC and stock radio.
I've checked for shorts, cut wires, loose connections and whatever else I could think of.
I've done nothing different that I am aware of.
Please help!
Thanks

Sounds like RX antenna or TX batts to me. Triple check the RX antenna, open up the RX and check if the antenna wire is still properly soldered on the board.
If all else fails, try another radio.

you may need to get some good running shoes then :027: .........sorry :005:
have you tried different Xtals, at my track the stock Traxxas gear is next to useless, we have high voltage power lines under the ground and unless you stand in the middle you won't do a whole lap as the truck will just stop until you get close enough with the transmiter.........

Well I changed the radio batts, nothing, I changed the crystals, nothing, I made sure the trucks batts were charged, nothing. I finally took the receiver from my t-maxx and tried that, BINGO!
I can't think of anything that I may have done to it, do they just go bad over time or what?
Thank you all for your help!

Take the receiver apart and see what you find. It is no good like it is. Maybe find it and fix it up.
Peace!
