spektrum radio system. It is only at start up when you plug batteries up and try to move for the first time. The esc got to a balmy 85 degree f after 6 mins. I don't think that is to bad.

Yeah, mine is a 125B. I also am running a Spektrum system and a UBEC. However, fearing that the power from the UBEC might be "noisy" I added a 1,000uf 10v capacitor to help filter the power. I also added a switch so the UBEC has time to power up and settle down before I switch the power to the receiver. Maybe those things make a difference?
85 degress is not bad at all. My 125 got to 120 degrees in my cool (~65) basement after about 1/2 hour. When outside it gets hotter so I added a heatsink. Much better now.
