I have a mgm. I have had good luck with them so far. So i have the shulze and mgm to play with. I wish the schulze didn't have the delay in reverse some time. I have thermaled it a few times and it is still going. I have bashed and thrashed it over a year now. I think it is a good one. I have blasted it with 18 nimh and 6s limn to. :D

I got the new esc hookedup.
It still has a small glitch type thing when first hooked up.
I think it may be a quark problem.I didn't get to test it fully for my batts was not fully charged.

That's weird, I've never had any glitch or problems with mine. Maybe you are really unlucky? I'd try your other ESC(s) to rule out other components.

You run a 125 though If I am correct. It seems better this time.
I still running the same stuff I had with the 9920 and it did good.
spektrum radio system. It is only at start up when you plug batteries up and try to move for the first time. The esc got to a balmy 85 degree f after 6 mins. I don't think that is to bad.

Yeah, mine is a 125B. I also am running a Spektrum system and a UBEC. However, fearing that the power from the UBEC might be "noisy" I added a 1,000uf 10v capacitor to help filter the power. I also added a switch so the UBEC has time to power up and settle down before I switch the power to the receiver. Maybe those things make a difference?

85 degress is not bad at all. My 125 got to 120 degrees in my cool (~65) basement after about 1/2 hour. When outside it gets hotter so I added a heatsink. Much better now.

A heatsink does wonders for esc's. My 9920 was running around 135-140 and after i put a heatsink on it the temps were 105-110. Leroy, those temps arent bad, but than again that was on 6min of runtime, it might get a bit hotter on a full run for sure.

I have to test some more. I not sure what the problem is. I guess I have to let quark know it is a problem. I think it is the esc though brian. Two esc three motors and all was run with no problems before. I have to let you all know what happens. I may see smoke again. I would try 5s lipo but I don't have a 2s pack.

A little off the topic here, but would it be bad to run a 125B when you not putting that much juice thru it? For example, let's say you have a controller that can handle xxx amount of juice, but you only run a little xxx amount and want to beef it up later with more, can you still run a high "grade" controller witha low grade motor and batts? i hope you can figure this out coolhand, it gets me worried that people are having some probs with the quarks latlely, i really wanted one but think i'll wait...

I wonder if they have different stuff in the 80 version from the 125. Maybe the fets have a lower voltage or something. It sure don't like to work right. It is only on first hook up and go though. I may try a reprogram and make sure or not if that helps.

Neweuser, the 125B seems to work fine for everyone, as for the 80, well leroy is there to test it out for us!

The only thing I have ever heard is that running an ESC at much lower current than it is rated for reduces the fine amounts of control, so it may cog at more. However, I am running a 10XL which is easy on the current and haven't seen any control or cogging issues with the Quark 125B, which is way more than the motor will need. Maybe that was an issue for older models, I dunno. Electronically speaking, it's better for longevity of the individual electronic components to run them much lower than their max ratings. Everything stays cooler and lasts longer.
