Best 2.2 top speed tire

I,m in the process of building a topspeed brushless Rustler and would like to know what type of tire is best for this feat,tall offroad type or low profile onroad tread.I am familiar with duct tapeing the inside of the tire to limit ballooning,but is there any other info or threads you folks can throw my way? I'll be running the stock 2.2 size wheel.Thanks a heap.
