Rc10B4 + 5700 MM and F201 + 7700 MM

First the B4's: (Green one is running 8 cells, Red/silver is running 7 cells, 5700Kv motor)

The F201 is severely traction limited on the asphalt, and yes, it does lay rubber on concrete. The red B4 (mine) is running super-cheapie 3epower cells, which are supposed to be 3300 mAh NiMH, but only charge to around 2600. It's put together with spot welded tabs and big strand wire...in other words, about the worst possible manufacturing methods known to man, and still manages to do pretty well. I did change to the well built 8 cell later on in the video, but the 7 cell cheapie does pretty darn well. I did put a small 3S in mine, just for testing. It's crazy on 8 cells and going to be insane on 3S, when I get a proper sized pack.

Anyway, haven't posted much here lately, but thought you folks would like to see what i've (we've actually) been up to!

This is about what I am looking for with my B4 but with more top end punch and top speed. Looking for a Jato 3.3 killer.

You could easily have that with a 3S LiPo in there. I don't have anything currently capable of really pushing the limits of the setup. A solid 3S from someone like tanicpacks would put that B4 in the 60 mph territory for sure. Maybe not a jato killer, but it'd run with it for sure, and prolly be faster off the line. One thing you'll have to deal with is the 65,000 RPM limit of the CM36s motors. You can gear from there to get the speed. If you are going the route of gearing to get your speed, I'd go the route of the 4600Kv motor, disable the BEC on the ESC, get a UBEC and run a 4S LiPo. Then you can gear the fool out of it and get your jato killer that way.

Here's the setup on the green one: 17T Pinion / 87T Spur. I'm running 17T Pinion / 81T Spur on the red one.

Thanks! We're both having a ton of fun with them, and now I've got new tires on order, hehe. Ball diff is holding up just fine. Actually, the whole setup is running really nicely (yay stealth tranny!) I just need to look into replacing the bushings in the tranny with some real bearings. It's a very smooth and quiet setup that seems to roll forever when you get off the throttle (I don't use the drag brake setting). The B4 tranny is the same as the RC10GT, so it can take the abuse without grenading. :dft003:

Where do I find some slicks for the B4? I found some Panther 2.2 rear slicks but I can't find any for the front. Has anyone come across a set?

My B4 is for parking lot bashing. The dips and expansion joints are too much for a touring car. Slicks would be sweet if I can find the front to match.

Well, I wouldn't suggest slicks for the B4. Any tiny bit of dust or dirt on the surface and you go sliding around like you're on ice. Granted, I haven't run any purpose-built slicks (just bald tires!) so maybe that will be a different experience? Somehow, I think not tho.

Squee hit it on the head by suggesting the 1/10th road rage tires. I run those on my RC18T, and I absolutely LOVE them. They grip, but not so much you can't play with them. We've both been doing some research on tires lately and have come up with a few good candiates.

Great grip on-road, ok in the grass, useless on dusty hard-packed clay. Prolly ok performers on soft loamy stuff. If you listen in the video, you can hear them WHIZZZZZZ as they spin on the concrete. Best part is that this is only on 8 cells. :027:

I have these also for my R18T. Killer onroad traction, pretty good in grass and dirt. They have large enough lugs on there so I won't grind 'em off in one outing.

I'd suggest these if the Road Rage doesn't tickle your fancy:

They look like they'd hook pretty good, but I'm betting all those tiny treadblocks of the Road Rage would work better.

HPI Racing Slick 57x35mm 2.2"

Panther Slick 2.2 rear

Is there any reason this wouldn't work? The HPI front slick is 2.9"X1.4"X2.2". I can't figure out how wide the stock front tire is. I know the rear slick is OK, just trying to figure out the front.

The HPI is the right wheel size and overall diameter but, will it work on the front stock rim without rubbing?
