Yea, Nick, they should be noticable better.

I got the E-Station 701 and its only DC. DC is better IMHO.

Those high-cell chargers almost HAVE to be DC operated. Otherwise, a typical AC transformer would have to be able to output as much voltage and current as the largest pack it is rated for and the losses as heat would be quite high. The charger simply takes 12v DC input and converts it (using a PWM circuit) to a higher (or lower) DC value for the charger circuits depending on the pack charging. This makes the charger MUCH more efficient and MUCH lighter/smaller. Very similar to how car amplifiers work - at least in the power supply stage anyway.
