TBH the mgm controllers are not the best example of where sensorless technology is nowadays with the braking problems etc but those problems are probably fixed now in the latest software.

The grasshoppper is a very simple car and originally came with a 380 size motor i suspect that one of the purple can feigoa motors would fite nicely if you get low enough kv you could use a mamba 1/18th controller if you use a higher voltrage with low kv motor you could use cells smaller than subc for this or possibly lipo.
I have the hornet but the tranny/axle housing is craked, so when i replace it i was going to ge tthe grasshopper one instead so i cna gun the mamba system. I can get the hornet part, and run a 540 size motor to. I have a could i run the wanderer 12s on 8 cells? would that have to much torq? how fast would it go?

If you know the gear ratio you can use the speed calculator that BrianG put together.

http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed.html

Without knowing all the particulars of your setup its hard to tell how fast it will go. Just plug in the info and it should tell you a pretty decent estimate anyway.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I have and old usless rustler, that i just took the rear end off of, made it about 3 1/2 - 4 inches norrower, and tomorrow im going to connect it to the chassis. I thought narrowing it would the the hard part, but i cant figure out how to connect it to the chassis.

I put the 12s in and on 8 cells it got up to 35, it didnt even have enough power to wheely, and striped the gears.
