L or XL? Dual SS5800s

I would highly recommend a 4S lipo or 14 cell battery, a 8XL, a mamba max ESC w/ a small fan (25-40mm) and an external BEC or Rx pack.

This is the setup I have, and it has a pretty good balance of everything: cost, power, heat and runtime. The MMax can take a bit more voltage, so its safe, but it really starts to get nutty after that, and you'd have to be careful to keep temps down.

A 4S setup would be excellent, fast and reliable. If you go for maxamps or such 8000 mAh lipos you'd get ~30 min runtime for a very reasonable cost. you can also tune it a turn up or down on the motor to get more speed or more runtime.
