I assume the car controllers have more fets, or better ones, etc.... for the same amp rating.

I know Shawn has said that the Mamba25 for example, is built way "tougher" than a Phoenix 25.

When they first started into the Mamba project they thought they could just take a plane controller and play with the firmware to make it car-friendly, but they quickly found out the hardware wasn't even close to good enough when put in a MiniT. So the Mamba25 is "overrated" compared to their own plane stuff.

Maybe Joe can tell us how different the guts are....

That makes sense in a way since current in a car is quite peaky. OK, so a few more FETs and maybe some heavier circuit traces. Then add new firmware. Still seems a little unbalanced price-wise.

A perfect example is the Quark 125B. There is the air version that is quite a bit cheaper than the car version, but both look exactly alike. I wonder what the inside of the air one looks like...
