You guys have me..... - 02.26.2007, 09:17 PM

Second guessing myself!!:007:

I'm building a brushless MT2SS and the plan was to use a MM 4600 with MM controller on 12 GP3300 cells. I was reading through some other posts and someone mentioned that 12 cells is overkill for that size truck and 8 cells would be better on an "S" series motor. I'm obviously looking for speed but would also like drivability when not breaking the sound barrier.

I would love to run an 8 cell saddle pack to reduce weight.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

In that case, run 8 cells on a 5700. You can then run 12cells/3S lipo if you want to go fast, but then run 8 cells for normal driving.

I ran 4s2p A123 (13.v 4600mah) on a Feigao 540 8L. It was FAST. The stock (dirt) tires were worn down in no time on the street.

8 cells with the MM5700 in the MT2 would be nice. I tried 6 cells in my MT2 and it was ok, needed a bit more. Went to 3s lipo and it was too crazy! So i settled on the 4600 with the 3s lipo.

Thanks guys.

At this point I have no intentions of trying Lipo. (yet) I just want to find a nice combo with either 8 or 12 cells. I'll make the battery holders adjustable for either one.

Looks like 8 cells = 5700.........12 cells = 4600.

Any other motor preferences with the MM controller if I stay with 8 cells?

Well, if you want a better motor it would be a lehner 1920 5/6/7T..

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Ditto that. You could also run the 7700 mamba motor on 8 cells (would be crazy fast).

I just found a decent deal on a MM 5700 system so I may go for it. I like their controller and I can always try different motors at a later date.

I'm guessing the 5700 would play nice with 8 cells.
