On the input shaft (the one with the two metal gears attached to it, it's also the one you have to cut for the single speed conversion and the one with thread on it) the gears are attached with a roll pin that goes through the shaft and through the gear, this roll pin can break. Just looking at it you can tell it isn't that strong, since it's hollow.
People put a drill bit or something else solid in the hole to replace the roll pin.
Obviously you only need to do it to the bigger gear since your going the single speed conversion.

oh thanks i get it now;thats good advise!how is the single speed working 4u?im waiting for parts; cam locking bell cranks for steering; multi adjustable shock towers....what kind of steering are you running?

What do you guys think, should I use some RED thread-lock on the pin I will use just add some extra hold? Probably doesn't need it if it's tight though.

I don't have the single speed conversion, but I know a few people at racing that have or have had them, and they all seem to like them.
Some of the other guys use the UE steering I thiink, but I'm just using the stock setup for now with a better servo saver and a mid range hitec servo (don't remember what it's called).
