Having 2nd thoughts again. Winter is basically 6.5months out of the year here. I would love to be able to run it in snow but the conversion would hold me back... We got a record snowfall last year and has atleast 2ft of snow on the ground all winter. The streets were always glazed over with ice if not packed snow... Heres a vid of my evader during one of the many heavy snowfalls of last year- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWne3eqiUZc

i would like to be able to run in this but converting would hold me back...

I think Ill save this project for after winter seeing that I would not like to ruin anything running threw the snow.

Ahh this is really bothering me! I think I should order the motor/esc for the hell of it. Ill have it converted until winter and then its back to gas until spring.

New idea! Ben brought up the idea of using dual ESC's to soak up the enormous shock of the outrunner. I am probably going to run dual 100a HV ESC's from bidproduct that can handle 10s each. I will run the two 5s lipos in series to make 10s lipo and then run them in parrallel to both esc's. The ESC's will be ran in parallel to the giant outrunner. Kind of a complicated setup but I hope this works.

Sounds great. Why not waterproof it and drive in the snow?

That 200 kv motor says it's only rated for 8s max. Didn't know if you missed that since you said you want to run 10s.

I say keep it gas. Real cars are gas :).

This might have been gone over at some point on this forum. If I recall correctly, this won't work since the two brains boards would need to be synchronized with each other so they fire the correct phase at exactly the same time. But since that's not possible without extensive modifications, there's a good chance they would fry each other.

That would be the least of my concerns.. I'd be worried about shorting something out and ruining it.

Problem is if they don't. You could easily have a short from one controller to the other.

Savage: FLM Conversion, 6s, MMM, CC 1520.
Mini-T Pro: Micro Pro 6800kv, Lipo, HS-81mg, Dirt Hawgs
M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo
LRP S8-BX: RC-M Conversion, Tekin RX8 B1600KV, 6S.

im with supra, i had a 5b when they first came out. after i figured out how to keep the clutch bell attached( defective bolt from factory) it was a blast to drive. then,i realized, im driving around a 3 foot long 25lb weapon with 2 wheel drive. the gas motor with a pipe was motor than enough power. by going electric ur just asking for a disaster. and when it crashes ( cause it does, and hard ) ur not costing urself 500 in bats, 200 in motor, 300? in speedos.

And it's likely they wouldn't. No two pieces of electronic equipment are made exactly the same due to tolerances in manufacturing.

I also had one right when they came out, and my clutch also had a defective bolt. Wonder if this happened to a lot of people..
