Hello,
I have changed my plans a little bit.
First off, I will trying to use the 380C 13T instead of the 540C 9L. I might just use 1 Lipoly battery but still run 14.8V.I want to mount the motor differnt the stock becasue stock is boring, but I might end up putting it in the normal position.I will hopefully be designing a custom carbon fiber top deck for this project. But I might just end up doing an aluminum one.

Does anyone know what the best controller would be to handle 14.8V?

You don't need a very powerful controller, as that motor will pull very few amps. My Feigao 540 12s on a 4s 3300mah(10C) Lipo in a Rustler would never make the battery heat up. The 380C is a smaller motor, so it would require even less. I would estimate that a controller that is rated at ~50amps would work well.

Will any of the new castle creation controllers work? or do you guys not recrommend those? this will be my first brushless project so I dont know too much about controllers and stuff.

not sure but if your refering to the phoenix's there made for planes and i dont think they would work. i would go for the mgm 80 amp controller. i hear there good for low cell counts.

I need a controller rated at max to 12-13 cells. I will be running 14.8 volts so I dont want to blow a controller

Castle will soon release the mamba maxx controller, which should be nicely priced, highly capable and good for up to 16 cells. This is also a car/truck controller, so it should be ideal for our applications.

you know a specific date when that will be coming out? becasue I might be rdering the MGM 80 this week.

It's gonna be a few months, or more. Beta controllers still aren't out... The whole reason why it isn't out is because they are making sure that it will be as reliable, smooth, a just plain good as it can be. The beta period will be for working bugs out with the testers.

Do you guys think the MGM 80 amp from http://www.modelflight.com.au/mgm_compro.htm
will work? It is different then the one they have in the r/c monster store. It is alot cheaper too. Which one should I get, that one, or the r/c monster one? If I get the one from that site, I can get the motor and controller this week, but if i get from r/c monster I will have to wait like 2 mre weeks for the controller.

Let me know which one I should get.

I got the chassis from Andrew from Cold Fusion Racing today. Here is one of the picture I got, I took more but they came out blurry and then the batteries dies so this is all I got right now.

That looks awesome! The 80 amp one that is on that site is for airplanes, it won't work because it doesn't have brakes and it wouldn't nbe able to control the amp spikes that occur on a car/truck. The one in the Rc-Monster store would be your best bet.

Yeah, If you think the chassis looks good in a picture, you should see it in real life. This is only the mock up chassis to beleive it or not. I need to change a few things here and there, and then have Andrew over at Cold Fusion Racing cut me another one. I decided that I am going to try to run dual lipoly packs. Now I have to find a pack that will fit with out me having to rearrange the steering setup on the car. I think Im going to get the poly-quest 3100N 7.4V batteries, becasue they are the closet thing I can find to fitting and still near the mAH's I'm looking for. The motor will be mounted above the spur gear, trying to keep it as low as possible still. Well, I gtg to bed, so more updates will be up tomarro if I have any (Final chassis design will most likely be done tomarrow)
