I'm not going above 3S
I have some 2S 5000mAh Hard Cased LiPos 7.4V from TrueRC. Amazing stuff.

use 2 2s in series for 4s. Your esc will thank you! Higher voltage yields higher efficiency/lower temps. On 3s your drawing more current which equals more heat. Also on 3s to get some decent speed you'll need a higher kv which draws even more amps, thus more heat.

An XL motor will not fit in an e-savage. I think 60mm or an L motor is as big as will fit. An XL motor is not a good idea either because as mentioned above its just too much power. I would go 4S, 2S on each side for weight distribution. A 3S setup will not work here because an e-savage is still a pretty heavy MT truck and you are going to be pulling too many amps.

Right, I won't be pulling 3S anytime soon... Have some 2S on hand, why not?
Have another question.
He's offering me $125 shipped if I buy tonight, that's the motor (9L), MM (Mamba Max), and a BEC!
Good deal/Not

Thats a steal. 9L motor is perfect for E-savy IMO. I like the 10L personally but I'm sure you can gear up or down to compensate. What final speed are you looking for?

I'm not sure along the speed.
Something... speedier than the 700HOs.. I want this to be worth my while. ;)
If the 700HOs reach about 30mph, I'll be looking around 40mph? Yes, I know, no need to crush my dreams, I already did it myself. I doubt a 9L can do that.
Who knows?
What specific model Medusa should I be looking for?

35 might be doable with a 9l without toasting it. I would say that at the very least you can get a little more speed, tons more torque, and longer run times versus the stock setup. Will you just be bashing or racing?

No racing on this end. Mainly bashing.
I do speed runs sometimes... Not often, about twice a run. And a speed run, is about 50m for me.
Then it's to the grass, and dirt. (I have this small weird 'garden', well not really, it's mostly weed, growing right on the line of my neighbor and I lawns... I sometimes just try and get through all the weeds, and the roses that pop up out of no where; more like rose stumps)

w00t. I just heard that he will be shipping priority mail, and if he ships out tomorrow, I should be getting everything on Thursday, IF he ships out tomorrow morning!
That is, if my calculations are correct. >_>
