Well done. looks like some good work to me. Doesn't the aluminum serve as a heat sink in a way? If so, wont you lose some of that extra cooling?

yes im sure the Aluminum Mount does act as a heat-sink, but the E-revo already has a designated motor heat sink. This combined with the fact that my motor runs pretty cool on the voltages it receives makes me think it should be fine. Heck, if i notice that the motor temp jumps by 30 degrees then ill put the aluminum one back on, but i dont think that tat will be the case.

Motor Mount is Finished!! - 05.09.2009, 08:09 PM

Here is my finished product, I decided that some additional support to the Motor Heatsink would help with the stiffness even more....And i was right!!! This thing is super stiff, feels like i could stand on my motor if i wanted too!!

on too the Pics:

Pictures were taken before the brace was sealed on the edges with CA.

Very nice indeed. Really does look like an optional aftermarket part its so well finsied- you really should do some 3906 mounts and sell them on the bay- 'advertise' on the idiot forum and you'll soon be raking it in...

Thanks alot guys, its always nice to have something you put some effort into complimented. As far as making these for prophit goes I'm not sure if I have time with my current class load, but it is an idea for something to do during summer break.

Wow, all I can say is nice work. I have had machinists that work for me that couldn't do that well with professional equipment.

What type of protection did you take when cutting it? Looks awsome, great job!

i have to say that i did not take enough....when cutting i wore safety glasses and covered my mouth and nose with my shirt. this wasnt enough because i have been coughing up black spit!!! im definitely going to invest in proper protection before i do any more cutting
