It's a one day race event. Generally there are a few first time racers so no need to be discouraged. Last year there was also a get together at Finnster's in-laws place the night before with a bbq (unfortunately I was unable to attend). It's somewhat laid back and everyone is there for a goodtime and anyone will help you if they can, much like on the forum. Getting to put faces with forum names is awesome and I have met some incredible people. I have attended the last two years, which for me means a 3-3 1/2 hour drive each way and I have worked the night before and morning after each time I went. I have slept at least 4 hours in my truck each time as well, lol. It's a good time and I look forward to going again, and this time if tehre is anything the night before I will be there!

Chris also talked last year about doing a Sat event somewhere else (like a crawl or something.) The trouble is a lot of people make plans to go, but as the date comes, time gets crunched and people end up cancelling.
If there is enough interest, I'm sure plans can be made again, tho its always hard as people are spread out all over the place and can't take a huge amt of time off to go.

This is one of the venue option - Station 2 Middletown NY.
Its at a local firestation, facilities are great, power, water, compressor, toilets and great food all day. Very family atmosphere - Mostly electric...

That looks like a pretty wide open heavy throttle track. Probably burn some mah on that layout. Lotsa long straight heavy throttle sections. Looks like it would be fun and high speed.
Although... I still like the crew and crowd at The Barn. I always liked going to that track.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I've heard that's a nice track and lots of BL people go there. Nicer for more novice racers as barnstormers tracks were always very aggressive with large jumps. Lots of fun but lots of breaking too if you were not the greatest driver... *ahem*.. or so I've heard... :)

Although it's not a huge track it looks pretty good and would be very friendly to the short course trucks. I also think that since this is all for a charity the idea of it being at a firestation is awesome, not to mention I think it's pretty cool that a firestation anywhere has it's own RC track! Doing a quick search on Google map shows this isn't all that far from Barnstormers but it is closer to me! Might save me 15-20 minutes driving

I know the long jump has become an annual thing at the bash but since that track doesn't seem to be the best for an event like that we could always have a pull off, truck tug of war type event!
