I`ve put atleast 40+ packs of 5s 5000mah (22-23min run time) on my RC8T CE tekno v4, with a cc1520 1600kv, and havent touched the driveline once since new.... This thing is the strongest bugger i`ve seen.
I`ve landed on full throttle ALOT of times, and used it hard on both gravel and black top.
Jump 30-40ft every single day i drive it.

i should have done some more service along the way though, cause the rear diff got sloppy (worn), and i think it`s about to wear out the pinion/sun gear now. So i should had opened and reshimmed it after 10-15 packs, i know ;) But a 24 dollar diff from ebay, and i`m all set. I also have ordered a complete bearing kit for it, to do a big service now.

I have no doubt it would handle 6s without any problems, all day.

Do you think the car should be lighter with the V4 Brushless conversion than the Team Associated one?

No, i actually think the v4 is heavyer, if there`s any difference.. But it cant be much..

BUT i`ve checked my corner weights, and they are close to perfect with 5s 5000mah in my v4... I think it was approx 30gram difference between the lightest and heaviest corner..
Havent tried to adjust the springs to make it 100% even, so i dont know if thats possible.. But i was very happy as it was also :)

I HIGHLY doubt the AE conv. kit makes the car that well balanced, just by looking at the big difference of the layouts..

You are sure. I donīt thing that the AE conv will be balanced. Maybe I will get a V4 soon. I just like the "one piece" complete tray from th AE. Should be easy to take off the eletronics to clean...

Pretty sure the tray is 150mm long. I know for a fact that Turnigy 5000mAh 40C packs fit regardless of the cell count. I am using Turnigy 4S and 6S 5000mAh 40C and 5S 5000mAh 30C packs in my RC8Te and RC8Be. They fit although just. It's a tight squeeze but I have no problem getting them in and out of the battery trays.

My RC8Te runs a 1518 now but used to run 1520 as well. I had to use the 1520 in another project so I fitted the 1518 now. Anyway both motors have been ran on everything from 4S to 6S and no issues at all. Well I did have a few tires separate from the wheels.

wow...150mm long is way better than 140mm. I read in some place that the tray are 140x47mm. Fron 140mm to 150mm we have a lot of battery opitions... not sure yet about the 150mm?
I will need to wait to my truggy arrives before to buy one with confidence...any one have a caliper to know exactly the tray size?

OK, I was lying. It actually turns out that the internal dimensions are 145-146mm X 49-50mm. Still all the Turnigy 5000mAh 40C and 30C soft packs will fit. Here are some pics of the Turnigy 6S 5000mAh 40C pack in my RC8T.









Can you see over in the right corner where I had to trim a little bit so that it wouldn't press against the battery wires? It's a 10 second job with a hobby knife.



Maybe you can see what I mean in this photo. You can see the black wire is right in the corner and would have been pressing hard against the battery box if I didn't trim it a little.

What cell count were you thinking of running in your RC8T Ivan? If you are going to run 4S I am certain that Gens Ace 4S 5000 40C hardcase packs will fit too. They are a great battery.

Thank you. You help me soo much. Itīs clear to see that the battery could fit inside the tray and you donīt need to trim all of the rear side. And this truggy with 6S should be insane...

i ran a tekin t8 2000kv/hobbywing 150amp esc for the rfirst time today in my rc8t. i really liked the sensored feeling over unsensored castle mamba monster/1800kv. 46/15 gave good topend speed with nice smooth bottom end. temp checked every 90 seconds or so and it ran cool as a cucumber
i am using the ae conversion kit,my 5000mah 4s fit perfectly. to fit my 6000mah nano i had to spin the esc and go the hack on the esc shelf and battery tray. now they fit perfect . am looking forward to getting it on the track and see what sort of runtimes i can get out of this 2000kv
