The 380C 6L will likely push a Rusty somewhere around the 33-35mph range. I've got the 6L in my T3 and have GPS'ed it at 33.5mph on 6- GP3300's. It would also pull wheelies pretty easily when I took it onto the grass.

I too think it would be worth it to wait for the Mamba Max.
The Quark may be similarly good, but there's nothing like computer programming and being able to update the ESC's software on the computer instead of sending the ESC in to be upgraded. To be honest, I haven't even programmed my Mamba Max using the throttle stick yet, it's all been done using a computer.

I don't know when that will be, all that I'm saying is that I would wait. Two years ago they said it was "coming soon". So I'll say more will be out "real soon". :dft012:

You can try the stock gearing, but it would help to get a set of pinions, like this one:

That way you can play around with the gearing to find the spot where the temperature of everything will be optimal.
Which battery pack will you be using? If it's anything short of GP3300 cells, you aren't going to get as much performance as the system is capable of providing. The battery feeds the system, and the motor can only put out as much power as the battery gives it.

I'd read around before getting 4k batteries. rcgroups is a good place.
Since you plan to use a 5700 kv motor, that is gonna suck some current. If you go with Lipo, make sure the continuous current is high enough.

The maxamps 600mah cells can take 60amp's continius and 72 for 10sec and the 8000mah 96cont and 128/10sec both of these packs coud be enough right ?

I use the Maxamps 2s 6000mah pack with the 5700, and no problems. The pack hasn't gotten above 105 deg. F yet.

I'm not sure, as I've never run for a full battery at once. I would estimate about 20mins, though.

I would estimate 35-40. It's definitely fast enough for the local track. The current setup has a very large jump on it, and most other cars/trucks were only getting to the landing or a few feet in front of it, I cleared the jump past the whole landing area, about 6 feet from the landing ramp. That was just normal track running... and then I managed to smack into a wall.
