What do you mean it wont handel it. It will be to fast or you mean it will heat up or get demaginitized. :032:

The motors have a limit to how fast they can spin, and there's a point where the excessive rotation of the motor causes the efficiency to drop a lot. Castle says the RPM limit for the Mamba Max motors is 65,000 RPM. The 4600 on 4s Lipo is pushing that limit, as is the 5700 on 3s Lipo. Using the 7700 on 4s Lipo would result in a RPM of over 100,000 RPM, which would most likely kill the motor as soon as it got over 80,000. Even the 5700 on 4s Lipo would be spinning at about 80,000 RPM, which is way too much.
Exceeding the RPM limits would be likely to cause the rotor to slip off the shaft, cause the rotor to break apart ("grenade"), or get the rotor so hot that it is demagnetized.
The 4600 on 3s Lipo will get you to 40-45mph, if not to 50.

the only downfall is it looks dumb, they are in an ockwerd shapes, no flat sizes, and slightly lower voltage. from what i was told unless you were looking for this "Lowerness" of voltage you might notice it but if your not looking for it you probabley not tell. But it still has more power, punch, and run time than a non lipo. Good deals though 2 batts. and charger for 160, that was atleast what they sold for at the chicago hobby expo. Hope i helped.

oo... darn you need a special charger for the m1 batts?
what would happen if i ran these with the mamba 7700
http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-Lipo-6000-Bat...QQcmdZViewItem
wouldnt that cause it to use less rpms but still get me speeds to 40 pretty consistantly? id rather be safe going with the 2s than be on the daredevil side and bump up to a 3s or more. unless i can safely run with a 3s. lmk

You don't need a special charger for the A123 cells. It is recommended to cut the charge at 3.6v/cell, so you could do it manually, or have a device like the LipoDapter do it for you:
http://www.slkelectronics.com/lipodapter/index.htm
You could use the Maxamps 2s 6000mah pack with a 7700. It would be fast :027: According to Castle you should be hitting about 40-45mph with that motor/battery setup.
You can safely run a 3s LiPo with the 4600 motor.

The ICE IS a nice charger. I've been using one for about a year and a half now.

alright sweet im glad i bought it then!
so mamba max 7700 with 2s 6000 mah batts.. what can i expect my runtimes to be? also if i put on t-maxx paddles on it and ran it at the sand dunes or places with lots of sand would that kill my runtime? (and i do knwo that they arent a direct fit ill have to buy adaptors for it to work)
thanks!

I don't think you could gear it properly when using Maxx tires on it... You'd probably need the 4600 to do that properly.

There's nothing "good" or "bad" about the motors - they are the same except for the kv and kt (determined by the windings). One is faster on lower cell counts than the other, and one can be geared more easily than the other.

oo so pretty much the 7700 is like lets say 40 mph witha 2s 6000 mah lipo where as a 4600 can go 40 buit you need a 4s 6000 mah lipo?
wha would happen if i got the 4600 with a 2s battery? what speeds can i expect? or what speeds will there be with the m1 cells?
thanks alot metalman

That's the right idea, although the numbers are a bit off.

Castle says 30-35 with 2s Lipo on the 4600. For the same number of M1 cells, the speed will be slightly less, due to the voltage difference between them and LiPos.
