As usual.. Work in progress..

It's nearing completion now.. waiting for the UE extension and the aluminum centershafts.. I got the 1/8th lunsford conversion for it, that stuff is beefy.. But.. Titanium and titanium don't match.. (UE servo saver was reacting when i turned in the titanium balls included with the lunsford set.. snapped one clean off. Took quite some effort before i got fresh M3 hole in the titanium draglink. using UE shocks on them. I personally don't like the bushings on the flextek arms, they are sloppy, and i think that teflon would be a better choice of material.

Makes sense. In fact I modified my Racer-X Arms for delrin bushings.

Exactly how thick is your bushing? i saw some TI hingepins pulled thru a UE arm. But perhaps this was the result of wear. I considered this with my racer-X, but the lack of a lathe kept me from making the bushings... BUGGER.. got to get a mill and a lathe..

I'm experimenting with Teflon bushings on mine. Prototypes work fine.

(even just teflon shims work to take out the slop, Serum. Look for regular brushed motor shims, sold by many manufacturers)

Good, i understand that you had issues with yours as well. Seems i am not the only one who isn't too happy with their slop.. :p

I contacted flextek about this, but at some point they stopped replying... I guess they had it with my persistent nature.. LOL They told me they did 'excessive testings with different materials' and this was the best.. Perhaps in a dry and non dusty environment, but that's not what the usual MT will see..

The material they use may actually be not that bad! I can tell you teflon won't be very durable in this application, it just gets out of shape when you keep on beating on it. Better make a hole bag of them.

And no, Serum, not real issues. Just saw room for improvement! :)

Nice serum! What screws do you use on your maxx's? (blue). I can see your using flm bulks and (___) diff cases? Like newe asked, what cvds are those? They look good.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Most likely. Also another question at Rene, Why do you have so many e-maxxs? Do you like them alot or you like testing different parts etc?

Yeah, they are UE shafts.

with UE 8 spiders/ultralite cases. Currently i have got 2 maxxes, not too bad, right?! The lightweight and this one. the lightweight got a complete make-over. I recently sold an aluminum one with a Cf chassis, racer-X/8spiders to Danverz.. Still got a brand new racer-X collecting dust..

This one is a keeper.

I like the RPM knuckles, i'll post somepics of the maxx once its completely finished. It falls together real nice.

The screws are from mcmaster.com 12.9 IIRC

I hope the RPM knuckles hold up.. UE hasn't got their 'stock' knuckles..

Looks very nice, Rene.

I was thinking of doing a maxx with gmaxx chassis , monoblock, hybrids, etc.

What would one of your maxxes go for, Rene?! ;)
