Now if your looking for that anodized look on something without paying for the anodizing. You can go to NAPA and get this

*Works up to high tempratures.
*Is a high endurance paint that is painted in layers, so the paint doesnt chip off like regular paint.
*Easy to paint

I have personally used it many times with no problems and it looks great. Just be sure to prep your surface well and clean it so there is no finger oils or anything that could ruin the paintjob.

Thank you for all the tips - Update was I checked back later and emptied out the lightening and it was tinted blue.

I'm therefore going to try another round or two to see if it just needed more...
