Got most of the chassis together! Still searching for a good deal on a body...
I am also waiting on the shocks, and the bumpers. Seems like a nice sized truck, can't wait to get it runnng. I think I will use a hacker b50 12s motor with a sidewinder esc. I have a couple of neuenergy 3s lipos I can use with it. The 12s and a mm was a good setup in my pede, so it should work well in the slash.
BTW, the slash uses hexes, std black ones in the rear, and the thicker grey ones in the front, just like a vxl or xl5 pede/rustler. Wheels are std 2.2 size, and so are the tires, but they are quite narrow. Looks to be a stout truck, with plenty of room on the chassis!

fair warning limp, the huge front of the slash body acts like a kite for anything over 55mph lol i was doing speed runs in the school parking lot about the time i hit top speed ( 60 forsure) it took flight and went about head high landed on the lid and slid on its lid for over 50 feet before it turned sideways and started flipping lol burnt right through my antenna tube and antenna and almost trough the back of the cab on the body. so be sure and gear it for 50 or less lol or keep the antenna under the body lol.

I too was planning a revo to slayer conversion, but the more I look at it the more I am afraid that there is going to be so much different it won't be cost effective. If you have to buy a chassis, wheels tires, arms, axles & stubs, body, mounts bumpers, . I don't know if it is going to be worth it.

Ol' Red said it best in "Shawshank Redemption", You either get busy living, or get busy dying, and I have too many projects to die this soon!

Man, my thread is getting some exposure!!!
I am hungover, but I did get a chance to run the slash, bodyless and bumperless though. Seems like a stable truck, I still hate the crappy traxxas servo savers, I may have the center screw a bit tight, as it seems to require alot of trim adjustments to keep straight. I was dialing in the slipper setting, and managed to break off the split pin that holds the top gear on the slipper (input) shaft!! Thats a first for me, and I have built quite a few pede trannys. I have a new shaft hanging around, so that should be a quick fix.
Setup is a hacker 12s with a MM and a neu 3900 25c 3s lipo. Gearing is 15/54, and that seems to be about right. I can't wait to get a body and bumpers on this truck so that I can bash the crap out of it!!!

Ok, I will see if someone can get a vid of it. I am still waiting on the body and bumpers, but they should be in by the end of the week! The 4-tec thread is still there, just look in my thread list under my profile.
