So what do you recommend? Just two 3s1p packs?

Well yeah, but it's 'cause i'm allergic to paralleling. If you bought 4 3s1p packs it would cost the same, you still have the same no. of cells but your only running half of them at a time so you should actually get longer runtimes by not using energy carrying the others around. Those 4000mah cells are 12c constant (i think) so that's 48amps constant which may be enough but i'd like to hear other's opinions on this.If it's not then there's a reason to paralel but even so i'd rather go to a higher discharge cell like the polyquest XP 3700 16C/flightpower 3700 20C.http://www.duralitebatteries.com/batteries-esilver.html
for the extra $15 per pack.

I'll also be selling two superbrain 959 chargers $65 for both.

I'm going to go with the 3s2p, rated at 96 amps, I think i'll need it.

10 xl on a 6s lipo sounds better than a 12 xl. But both would be a good motor. 12xl on 8s would rock.

Peace!

I like the 12xl. This truck will be HEAVY. 2 reciever packs, one to power the RX, the other to power the esc fans. 2 3s2p packs equels the weigh of 15 NIMH cells (which isn't that bad), RCalloys rear center cvd, gpm tran case (HEAVY), UM Gears (also heavy), reciever and rx battery holders (off a tmaxx), 8spy diffs, ue steel cvds, integ knuckles. The rest is stock, but this thing will be heavy: 13 pound range.

I'm talking mostly the reciever. But i'll be happy with 2 rx packs. I cannot believe i'm about to spend $500 on batts alone, then another $160 on a charger!

Is 2amps more with the ability to charge 11 more NiMh cells worth $50? They both do 5s Lipo.
