Maybe if you take out the red wire out of the receiver jumper and use a seperate battery pack that would help to increase the No. of cells you can use.

Possibly but it would mean even more cells.

I always think when manufactures make a product they give the limit a few under what it can actually take, just so it is more reliable. For example it might say a 16cell limit but can probably take 18 with no problems - the manufactures just don't want to risk it.

I somewhat agree with you Nick and as a proof SCHULZE recommended the usage of no more than ten cells with the U-Force 75 although it is rated for 12 cells or maybe higher.

Although saying that, the EVX can only take 12 cells maximum, but to increase sales, Traxxas have said you can run 14 cells, I think this is very risky and either works or doesn't.

My EVX exploded with 14 cells and they did not replace it because using 14 cells voids the warrenty even though Traxxas say on the box/site/instructions that it works perfectly with 14 - how harsh is that?

Well, to tell the truth, we really do not need to use very high voltage in a MT if you want decent handling and acceptable speed. I would say that 45-49 MPH in a MT is more than what you need and in order for you to reach such speed a good 14 cell pack would do the work. Also take into your consideration that the new MAMABA MAXX produces a very high amp rate and it can handles 16 cells at once so if you want it to handle more than that I would say they will sell it for no less than 350+ dollars. If you really need a monstrous ESC you can get the Schulze 40.160 ESC but it will cost you an arm and leg you know.

Well, i don't think it will be 350 dollars, if you look at their other products and the competors it will be about the 250 dollars. CC is not know for a overrated price, and they sure want to make a statement with this controller...

And 'we' don't need HV systems? i personally would like to have a HV setup (and i am for sure going to buy one) and with the upcomming lipoly it gets more and more interesting to buy and build a HV setup.. More volts means less loss.. higher efficiency and lower current flow.

i would prefer a bk36150 over a schulze anyway.. ;)


With the GP2200 it too gets more and more interesting to run 20 cells or so..

6-8 weeks is a long way and I truly want a small and good ESC to use it with the KONTRONIK twist-55 in my TB EVO 4 MS and if the Hacker controller was still on production I woul've bought it for sure, but the Schulze U-force is my best choice till the CC MM comes out.

If you run 20 cellsof GP2200 surely that would be dreadfull runtime?

14X3300=46200 of total energy
20X2200=44000 of total energy

and the voltage of the cells will not drop so far as with the GP3300

Weight is also about the same;
20X44g=880 gram (31.4oz)
14X60g=840 gram (30oz)

If you assemble the 2200 in a stick pack, you can probably fit 10 cells anywhere a 3300 7 cell pack would fit. If not, 9 gp2200's will fit. The higher voltage will supply more power because of less voltage drop.
