I think it's because revos and maxxes are easier to convert than lst2. Heck you don't even have to build anything yourself if you want to make an "ubermaxx" or a "G-Maxx-BL-Revo".
For the LST2 you have to do at least your own chassis plate for batteries and e-maxx tranny or a motor mount depending on how you want to do the mod.
I dunno how hard it is to convert a MGT but it doesn't seem that hard. There should be enough space for the batteries to begin with.
LST and MGT have one thing in common: You don't have to load them with hopups to make them work with crazy motors unlike maxx trucks.

I guess Losi doesn't make a 1/10th or 1/8th scale electric 4wd monster truck do they?
I like the lst2 but I don't want a nitro vehicle.

Everyone is recommending you convert the nitro to electric. Nitro vehicles are more durable than electric, which is why so many people convert them.
I say Savage or Revo.

Oops...I got that and something else confused. Its the 2 speed then I would assume, correct? Don't they need a 2 speed clutchbell?

Stock it does, but its quite easy to make one speed.

I've had a REVO before and honestly it just wasn't beefy enough for my likings, though it did withstand the horrible beatings I put it through like purposely landing on its lid from 30ft. repeatedly I just couldn't get over how it wasn't a true monster truck IMO, that's why I'm now using all the FLM parts I can get to create the ultimate savage with a center diff(ext. low cg tvp's, ext. a-arms, combo bulks, skids, servo mounts, ect.). It still wont handle as well as a REVO but I'll have more confidence to beat the hell out of it. Any way you go, anything will take quite a bit of upgrading in certain departments, basically it's what fits you best, price, availability, and personal likings are what should matter most.

one speed might be a little slow then correct?
anyways im going with the revo. i have a nice chassis already (upgraded shocks, shock holder thing, rpm arms, rpm carriers) and plus i have a SHIET load of tires and rims for it and not to mention bodies... and spare parts.
once i got the truck running i noticed a HUGEEEEE freakin amount of torque (im only using an hv-maxx 4s lipo.) it has uncontrolable torque! haha! i can flip on the back like nothing!! i want to tune this down a bit... i was thinking that the only way to do it is gearing correct? im thinking about adding a couple teeth to my spur and pinion each.. how will that affect it?
also while i was running it i snapped the pin inside the tranny...the one that is right behind the spur gear... where can i order this peice at?
and here is my first real problem... i noticed it was steering left a little so i adjusted it. it goes perfectly straight untill i floor it. once i give it some gas it leans to the right and if i try and correct it just a LITTLE it will veer to the left and flip (over correcting the skid... sort of) im not sure if my shocks are all off or something causing it to lean maybe? or maybe my tires are gripping enough? (using badlands)
if you guys have ever had this problem let me know!
thaks for all your help!

Not if you lock it into high, still has enough torque to flip the car over.

The Revo was a good choice.
Veering to the right would be because of unbalanced weight on each side. The pin breaking is known to happen because of the torque... BrianG told me. He said that with a small mod, you can get the Jato drive pins to fit and they will be much stronger. Watch tempos when changing the gearing. The Novak systems are a lot more sensitive to gearing changes then other systems and will heat up a lot at a time if the temps are not watched.
BTW - Let me know if you want a nice radio system as well, I have got three of them for sale (Airtronics M11 and two Airtronics MX-3s radio systems all brand new).

ya i figured it was because of the torque... and i dont understand why my weight would not be distrubuted correctly... all the electronics are straight down the middle and then i have the 2 batts off to each side equally disporportioned.. doesnt make any sence!!
and im using spektrum right now so i am pretty much good to go!! thanks though!

LST2 Get's my vote as well.. by far that's my favourite all around Monster Truck.. it was good for bash and race... Tranny was tough, diffs were tough.. It's a nice truck...

Isn't that called torque steer?

the veering could be a diff issue. if more power is going to one side of the truck than the other, it will cause it to veer off line.
you might want to have a look at the diff gears, since a loose gear meshing will result in the teeth slipping over each other.very bad. likewise, a too tight a mesh on one diff output compared to the other side will cause unequal power distribtion (left and right).
also, check to see that the axle carrier bearings haven't packed in on you on either side of the truck.
if the bearings have siezed, then more power will want to go to the wheel with less resistance. this would also result in the exagerated veering left when you plant it.
i am assuming that your steering linkages and servo saver a working correctly.

well i dont think it can be diffs cause i used it before and it never did that... and the steering i dont think...hope.... its not that cause i dont know how to fix this problem lol.
it could indeed be the axle carriers. will check that once i get my part in.
anyone knwo where i can get that little pin that goes in the emaxx tranny?

I don't know if you can order that part. But that's ok, because one of the mods to do on the e-maxx tranny is to replace that weak roll pin with something solid, like an allen key that has been sanded a little bit to make it rounder. Make sure it's a tight fit in the hole, and maybe use a drop of loctite for less chance of it falling out.
