Anyway, this hobby is a great release for the stresses of life. I like to think that my son enjoys it as well even if he can't express it. I often tell him all about how the cars work and tell him my plans for them and what-not. He is a lot of fun and a great kid to be around. Chicks love him too.
God bless you kulangflow. What you just said there just really got to me and I appreciate hearing it. I wish more people looked at things the way you are instead of seeing others as a burden. Thank you.

On a totally unrelated topic . . . Massa is awesome and I feel one of the most underrated drivers in F1.

backing up. - 06.26.2008, 02:29 PM

Backing up just a bit. My wife also is very supportive of me being involved with this hobby, and quite surprized when I share some of the threads on RCM with her. She is also impressed with the level of maturity and friendship with people who for the most part have never metin person, and from around the globe. I for one love coming here every day to see, read, and share our daily adventures in our hobby and in our lives. You guys are great and thank you for showing up.

Caring for and loving our children is an incredible gift no matter who or what they may be. We have eight kids from 9 to 28 and we love everyone of them the best that we can.

Hey Lutach. You can give us all a gift. Keep up the work on that ultimate ESC project of yours. We will all benefit from your efforts some day, SOON we hope. Thanks.

You guys are awesome.

Off topic sorry: As for the ESC, I haven't received an answer from Suppo yet. They promised a lot of things and I don't even know what happened to my MOSFETs that I sent to them. I already sent them an e-mail asking for the ESC with the aircraft software and no answer.

It blew my wife away to read this thread. Without previous knowledge, she figured the forums were just a bunch of kids talking nonsense. She didn't realize that this is a community of friends that supports one another in multiple facets of hobby and life. She is very impressed with the RC-M community.

As am I.

Thank you.

My wife felt the same way too. We currently have an 8-year old son and an 18-month old daughter and both are very interested in RC. We usually spend our weekends in our home-made track or the beautiful beaches here in Japan. She always though that we're just a bunch of kids at heart trying to live a 2nd childhodd .

But the best part of her reading this post is..... she gave me the go ahead to buy another truck to convert to brushless. I'll probably go for a Mugen MBX5T Prospec .

Jerry, 6 more years and hopefully I'll be retired from the Navy like you .

It's not very close to the water. I think that first pic is an optical illusion or something. You can see the lake from the deck, but it's a few miles away.

I only paid $215K because it's in Utah, where housing is reasonably inexpensive compared to the rest of the states. If this same place were in SoCal it would probably be 2 or 3 times the price. Lucky for me it's here.

Just want to say kudos to you dads out there doing right by your kids. Especially the ones with special needs kids. I know it ain't easy.
It's pretty crazy the way the housing market's gone (or everything else for that matter) the last 5-10 yrs.

Hey Kulingfow we know how excited you were getting that new house, how are things going for you and your family? How is the new house working out for you? Did you get an R/C shop setup yet? Give us the scoop.

Howdy Jerry!

I'm still loving my new house. I did get my R/C stuff set-up in my basement office. I'll have to take some pictures for the thread. It's not much, but it gets the job done.

My family is doing well. We're actually expecting our third child now. My wife is 10 weeks along today, so we're pretty excited about that.

My son is doing pretty well. They keep screwing around with his seizure meds and every time they do he has a really hard time adjusting to them. It'll be a huge relief for all of us when they finally find the right combination that will work for him and not dope him up too badly.

His medical bills have been an issue recently. I'm actually starting up a side-business to help out with it. The business is Super8 and Regular8 film transfers to DVD. I don't have a name for it yet. I have the equipment, and I actually made a test transfer last night. Here it is for your viewing pleasure. I still need to make some tweaks to get the white balance and color to look right, but I think the quality is pretty good. It's my family Christmas from 1982. If you're bored enough to watch all 5:46, I'm the 4 year old with the Dukes of Hazzard collection at 4:42 and playing with stompers at 5:15.

I appreciate you checking back up with me. I hope all is going well in your new abode as well!

He's down by the river ... walking on water.
