There have been at least 5 Ve8's at the local track, including mine; 4 of those 5 have all broke the rear skid, including mine, and never a single front. I got the aluminum skids for mine; much better than the plastic ones. But, your idea would certainly beef up the front end! IMO just get the aluminum upgrade ones when the plastic ones break.

I diffenitly plan on getting the AL skids . This was just a idea i came up with to help .

Hey i have a question, How much longer is that buggy compared to a standard 8th scale buggy??? it looks pretty long!

I dont know about the nitro buggy . But the VE8 is 17 1/2 long . Thats from tire to tire . It might look longer because the body is flatter the the nitro buggy body's.

The wheelbase is like 1mm longer than the D8, it looks longer because it is so narrow.

As promised here are the pictures of my new Ve8.

Its sans esc (mmp) which as soon as they are back in stock I will be ordering one. Kokam 6s 4000 lipo (should give me enough run time to do a 20 min main), shown with Medusa 1600 kv motor for test fit (will be getting Tekin T8 1400kv). ACE steering servo.

The body was painted by my brother, it came out pretty darn good for his first attempt I think.
