When I adjusted the suspension and added the spurrs wheelie bar I think I dialed it in pretty well when I say this thing jumps to full speed and doesn't flip backwards any more.

Batteries - 10.28.2006, 12:00 PM

I just got my batteries at work and I can't wait until I get home to test them out. Hopefully I can figue all this stuff out and get it right by tommorrow. The problem is there is storm out today and I probally won't get a chance to try it until later in the week.

Keep an eye out for my post on top speed LIPOS... :043:

I killed my truck. I think 6s is way to much for the slipper and spur gear I used. I need to make it alot stronger and then I think the front and rear diffs will go next. Any suggestion for me, and also check out the specifics under general electric 6s might be to much. Post either one, I'll check them both.

Well I tried it again and I melted the spur gear a second time. Top speed using a 52/16 was 57mph and I plan on breaking 60 before I'm done. Mike is still out of the strobe slipper so I searched the web and found Robinson Racing. They make a 32pitch 54spur and 14-22pinion gears with an all metal cross drilled slipper. I'll try this configuration on Wednesday when I get it in the mail and tell you all how it works. I will start with a 14pinion then 16 - 18 - 20 and finally if the E-Revo can handle it a 22.

Well what do you guys think about my idea of using the RR slipper as a substitue?

I replied in the other thread, but I will in this one to....You will shred the pinions with the metal on metal...You need a plastic spur...By the way, did you get my PM?

Why would metal on metal shred? It should be the strongest of them all.

Well first off, there is no lube on it! Metal on metal must be the right materials to work (one softer than the other). But with the torque you are throwing at them they shred each other. Is your gear mesh right?

I'm using 6s lipos and the torque is stupid. I think if I go with the strobe slipper upgrade or the robinson racing upgrade which are both crossed drilled metal the heat won't melt the spur gears anymore.

I think the better choice for you would be the strobe slipper...you just have to wait for mike to get them is all

Well I can gurantee that the metal on metal won't last 1 run. Infact, I would probably be willing to put money on it...Hardened steel against non-hardened steel WON'T LAST. Theres a few pictures around here of what happens with metal on metal. If you setup the MGT slipper you had right, then it should last no problem. If it doesn't, your only choice is the Strobe or a Kippster...
