pretty much no cogging at all , infact you would think being a 6 pole motor there should be less cogging and smoother acceleration , because you have less distance between poles.
No warranty for the align esc im afraid , but i will be trying another one but only the 75amp model next , and hopefully i will have a pistix available.
5S with 14t on at ryper track got a fair amount of speed down their long straight.

i have 2x hyper st pro's that nitro one you saw is being electricfyed.
i will have 16018 and 600L or XL in a race truck
and the other can be a test n tune truck with align esc's and test rig the 16024 from time to time.

No idea why the mgm smoked , wasnt the fact i run 6s on it , as nigel ran the same setup for a fair while before dropping a few teeth off the pinion and hitting the race track. And the only reason why the align smoked was cause i was caught up on the back of the berm and had a locked rotor situation .. That would of caused almost any esc to fry!

maybe esc need to come with locked rotor protection of some sort ???

I did try my MM with 3S with my vehicle off the ground and I didn't notice any major cogging. I also know that the 600XL spins easily compared to the 600L. I think 7S A123 (3.6V) is eaqual to a 6S (4.2V) lipo fully charged.

What's the rpm limit of the align's? I haven't seen it anywhere in the specs I've seen.

I took my 600L up to 58000rpm and the motor still works fine.

More testing and basically we knew we would smoke the esc , so we gave it some runs see how long it lasted .. this setups is 600xl 14t pinion 6S flightpower in my Hyper ST (the esc eater)

note, a few swear words in clip so you have been warned!

But see a glowing red smokey align 75 amp esc

If you like playing with fire so much, they make these things called "matches". I've heard they're cheaper than esc's.
And I knew Nigel likes flying helicopters, but I didn't know he wanted to be one.
Those align esc's burn pretty good. I wonder with they don't thermal first.
3 esc's in 2 weeks ain't bad.

Darren told me you were going to race on Sunday, but do you have anything left to run? When are those MGM's arriving?

nigel knows how to put out fires .. it worked, and we actually smoked two align 75 amp esc's that day .. 1st one didnt catch fire , bit of a fizz and puff of smoke. so thats a total of 1x mgm16018 , 1x align 100amp , 2x align 75amps

we fitted pistix , but the braking is not good. Dont think i will run sunday , no. We go like another 5 align esc's but not worth the hassle.

Serum , yes that was the esc on fire

Oh, crispy. Interesting method of putting out the fire, but it works rather well!

I found this thread and want ask some questions
Now MM have software update what allow to run outrunners anybody tried this motor with updated MM brains? How does it run?
What you think is it ok to Run this Motor with MM and 4S and gear it to 35-40mph on LSP. What motor temps i can expect in what time?
I trying to find alternative to Feigao, I dont like it at all.

i dont think that 4S will be enough fo 600XL. i tried it with 5S in my maxx and just does not have the right punch I am used to from my Neu. i still need to test it with 6S and i think that will be the right voltage

(i had it geared for just a little lower top speed than with Neu - about 36mph)

motor itself was cool

A buddy of mine has a 600XL lying around, and is gonna be dropping it into his Emaxx with a MM ESC.

Anyone have any thoughts on gearing? It'll likely be running on 4S, so I'm thinking it'll need to be geared fairly high................

Input?
