You need an orange, yellow, or blue wing...that red just doesn't fit the body's paint-scheme.

Nice wallot! Truck looks well sorted...
Was at the track Friday night working on getting the truck sorted. Ran well. No prob with the 1700kv setup on 5s. Batts, esc about 90* and motor came off about 130*. Perfectly acceptable for me...
I did manage to break an aluminum front axle though. Right where the pin passes through for the 17mm hub assembly.
Wondering if this is/was a hard hit fluke failure or if you/others have seen similar failures with the aluminum mugen axles?
I've got my proline BD body in hand and need to get it painted. Me likes! Yours looks great out there.

Titanium would be the best way to go, if anyone makes them in Ti.

I used the red wing on purpose - it is very hard to miss on the track :)

Wallot,
What gearing did you end up with? 16/46 still?

yep 16/16. on one track will use 17/46 as it has huge 100meter straight

How does your 1415 Nue compare to the 1515 series stuff for output?
Running my 1700kv T8, I was impressed with the power output and overall speed running on 5s. Temps were about 130* after ~20min.
Curious how the Nue's run?

couple fellow racers use 1515 and we dont see any difference in terms of power.
I do not like T8 as far as power delivery goes. As mentioned in another thread I feel a power hole when going from low to mid RPMs and I like to have a linear response from a motor.
Also Neu is more power efficient compared to T8 (about 10% more) However this was tested by two people with two different trucks and different driving styles :)
I like 1415 as it is lightweight (only ~10oz compared to T8 or 1515 with 12oz and more)

What are the dims? They share the same can/rotor specs as the 1515 series?
How have your temps been with that motor? I'm running similar setup to you (1700kv on 5s with 16/46 gearing) and I'm pretty happy with the T8 setup but wouldn't mind hearing more about the nue motor setup.
Sounds like your efficiency is pretty good too based on your run time and batt capacity.
Are you running any varied throttle profile on the RX8? How's your response running sensorless with the neu? Still pretty smooth?
The nue 1518 is also interesting. Several options there for winds.

1415 is 1515 rotor in a smaller can. at least like think. maybe just bit smaller. but who cares :)
linear throttle profile. it is all about throttle control. RX8 is as smooth as it can be.
motor just just warm to the touch after race.
runtime is also thanks to very light car with very light drivetrain (all drivetrain components lightened) and very light tires (VTR Calibers/Revolvers are 200g each, JC Crosshairs 208g and JC Sevens 195g) AKA tires are 220+g and some LPR tires can be over 240g
less rotational mass = less stress onto the motor
1518 is heavy. I rather use lead weights to balance the car than having heavy motor to start with

Great race this weekend. We did run 3 10min qualifiers and 3 10min finals.
Had to use 4200mah battery (the new 45C/90C G3 hyperion) as I did not want to push the 3300mah to the limit. (put back about 3000mah after each run)
Truck still needs some minor adjustments will go from 20-20-8 in diffs to 20-20-10
Rest of the setup will stay the same.
I did redrill rear shock piston holes to 1.5mm so the suspension works faster on a broken track and it did really help.

Had to sold the truck as our BL truggy scene is getting worse and worse. Just too many people who do no know when to slow down so races ended up being more about survival. I am tired of getting ran over by everyone in the first corner after starting from pole position.
Next season I will most likely convert my existing nitro D8 as newbies do not race BL buggies as they are too hard to control :)
