I'm thinking the 1800 seems more up my alley, but that 1520 is tempting. I would be ok with either one, but even on 6S that 1520 seems kind of a low rpm. Sounds like it needs a pretty big project to take advantage of all that torque.

I run a Neu 1521/1Y which has basically the same Kv of the 1520 and I run 5S lipos now and 6S if I want to impress a few nitro heads. With 6S I would recommend that Kv and Castle got it right. The 1518 seems like a good choice for 5S lipos. This is good stuff coming from Castle, I'll be waiting for you guys to post feedbacks on how they perform.

TGIF...I'm hoping Patrick is feeling better and that we'll find out today who the lucky testers will be.

It will happen this week. I got the motors all here, jsut need to review the applications.

AND BTW, I have some 1500Kv 1520 motors for Beta testing now as well. So I'll expand the beta to 12 motors -- let me know if you would prefer to test the longer, lower Kv (and somewhat stronger) 1520 motors instead.

How are you feeling Patrick?

I'm sure the soreness will be with you for at least another few weeks. Just be sure to keep that incision clean.

Here's wishing you a healthy and speedy recovery.

Hernias are nasty, makes me think of that sequence at the end of Alien: resurrection when the 'newborn' gets sucked out the window...

Get well soon dude.

Thanks guys for all the support!

I'm feeling better now, and I'm reviewing the applications as I type this. I should be notifying and shipping betas over the next few days.

Hmmm - Do you suppose the 1520 would have enough ooomph to power a Baja 5b? It would certainly seem to be overkill in a 1/8 monster truck but it's got me thinking.... I would certainly do a build up and take these guys on if you think it could handle it.

Yes Patrick I too hope your feeling better! But I'd also like to know if I'm going to be one of the lucky ones and if I'm not then who is.

I wouldn't use anything smaller than a 1527, personally. Dual 2200s or 1800s would work fairly well IMO (as long as you stop running instantly if something isn't right, could burn up a ESC or motor if the other shuts down).

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

If 25-30 mph satisfies you then a 1520 should be fine.
