You might have to think about going w/ mod1 gears at some point if you fry hardened 32p gears. Then again, better that than something else. g/l

The motor wasnt running hot with the high gearing. Why would it fry with lower gearing? (Thats less strain on the motor) so it should run cooler... shouldnt it?? Now you got me confused lol. Fill me in...
@Finnster Maybe... but my pinion gears are aluminum. I think it just got too hot and melted... The one I'm using Sunday is steele but so is my spur gear. I just hope steele on steele doesnt create a whole new problem....

Gearing that is too low may cause motor overheating if you are winding it out at top rpms a lot. But for the most part, gearing low does result in lower temps because the motor (and the rest of the system) isn't working as hard.

@BrianG I see. Well i'm not racing with it geared low only pulling. I won't have the rpms up no higher than I have to to drag those nitro trucks down the parkinglot. Also, I might try to pull a nitro 1/5 scale streetcar and a 1/5 nitro truck if they are down for the challenge. Stay tuned!!

Ah, alu pinions will wear badly on steel. Make sure you get hardened steel pinions for that spur. If in doubt, buy rcm.

I would love to watch that pull. 1527 vs dual Pletties :)

No match... He'd win for sure right now. We can pull for pink slips for sure. As soon as I get my other motor and Esc to throw on the other side of my truck. Until then i'll pass.

Interesting match tho.. T-Bro seems to have a chassis/wheel combo more suited for pulling. As-is, I wonder if dual Plettenbergs on an extended chassis with 40-series wheels would be enough to offset any difference in center of gravity and traction..

Hmm..

Good Luck and keep us posted !!
I didnt get to do the BIG pullout because the guy didnt show up (at least not before I had to leave). My Bobcats played in the playoffs today... couldnt miss that! lol.
I won, but I zoomed in with my camera and there was MAJOR slippage. I will be turning the wheels around to see if I can get more traction with my wheels the other way.
Thanks for the advice!

So far the front bumper one, not needed. I just added the extra Battery pack for my last pull-out. I could tell a difference, but my tire tread wasnt reversed. I'll really get to see where I stand weight/traction wise this Sunday.

Just purchased the Monoblock from UE Hopefully this will help keep minimize the wheelies. Probably not alot but anything will help. Now tell me this. My friend is talking about buying some lightning 1/8 scale nitro truck with 2, 4.3 motors so he can pull against me. Who do you think would win??
