Help me understand my Emaxx

If you are wanting to save up for hybrids id get the grey bulks for temporary replacement. If you arent getting hybrids than the FLM bulks are a nice buy.

Has anyone ever tried those 'rcbest' bulkheads. They look cheap but all the feedback on ebay seems quite positive. I only see the rear FLM bulks on RC-monster, are the fronts out of stock?

You can try GA Bulks. I would notuse Rcbest bulks, they are junk. But first check with Mike to make sure, he may have a set that is not listed.

You guys are going to have to elaborate a bit on the bulks as Im not familiar with all the lingo yet eg; GA bulks , grey bulks...ect. I really like the looks of the hybrids but hesitate at the $140 price tag. If I go that route it says it take 1/8 buggy gears...are these all packaged in a set?

GA- great assembly = http://greatassemblyrc.com/ They sell 6061 & 7075 alloy bulks which are very strong, but a little pricey.

The grey bulks are the newer improved version on the t-maxx3.3, but they should work on an emaxx fine- slightly stronger, and the grey skids too.

The flm combo bulks come in two flavours:

FLM17500
FLM18500
$120.00/set = these take standard maxx diffs (minus the casing).

FLM17700
FLM18700
$140.00/set = these take 1/8 buggy diffs which mike sells, but they will require more work to set them up (shimming and gear alignment etc)

If you are on a budget like me, I'd go for the FLM alloy bulks:-

FLM18001 $37.50
FLM17001 $37.50

They looks lush and are still a great improvement over the stock plastic version. As for checking your diffs, you may have to dismantle them if you cant feel/ hear anything obviously wrong with them

I'd go for the Great Assembly bulk kit. (See Pic) They are $95 vs $75 for the Fastlane machine versions but come with great bulkhead braces, are drilled for easy access to the shock tower bolts, and the machine work is better than FLM's.

I have a set of GA's in the 7075 aluminum and they are excellent! Nothing tougher! I also have their 7075 diff cases and 3mm Ti Skids. (See Pic)

If you can afford the FLM combo bulks they are very nice and provide a diff case upgrade as well.

That being said the FLM combo bulks are the best overall value with the GA's right
behind.

Been away for a while but back with a vengence( kinda) I get torn between to many hobbies. Been working on some airplanes for spring and doing some flying indoors:003:

Sporting a new look for the Emaxx. I wimped out on the hybrid bulks and went cheap and picked up the 3.3 grey ones. I got the revo cups for the shocks to set on which gives me the clearance I need over the sliders/3.3 upper arms(thanks Serum). I did spring for the FL shock towers and that really helped running the powerstroke shocks. The stock towers compressed the shocks to much and would'nt allow the truck to bottom, only the shocks would bottom out, leaving the skids 1/2" off the ground. Finally got some real tires, proline mashers on hpi wheels and the Excursion body from hotbodies. I was dissapointed with the this body as the holes were drilled a little off and the antenna hole is on the wrong side. I also picked up some new slipper pegs and the MGT spring like Procharged suggested. Finally got it together tonight and went to the park. After 10 minutes I snapped a center shaft(2nd time) so I guess its time for some real center shafts. Any word on procharge's slipper and the Mamba monster max?

On another note I'm looking for the "stiff" spring set for the powerstrokes, looks like its discontinued from most sources, any Ideas? What weight oil should I run to accomodate 3-5' jumps? I think I got 30w in them now which don't seem to do much.

I would just get the set of combos for 120.00 if you are running stock. You'll most likely never have problems with bulks again!

The nice thing about the combo's to be considered is that the diff cases are built in. So with the price, it comes with all that you need except the diffs! All for one price. if you get the GA's, which are nice, you are still stuck using diff cases, so if you want aluminum cases, you still need to fork out more money for those as well. Get the combos and be done...simple. .02...

Alright, ya talked me into it......I'm gonna get the FLM's that take the buggy gears. Procharged, what shock towers are in the pic you posted?
