Went to Neuelectronics yesterday to pick up a couple of 5s 4300's and had a chance to speak with Steve Neu, very congenial gentleman. A couple of interesting facts.: The neu batteries are not enerland or kokam cells but made to there specs in China. He sowed me the naked cells and subtle but importand differences frm other Chinese celss, tabs for one. Steve suggested pre-heating the cells before you run, upto 110-120 degrees by using one of the 12volt heater/coolers you can buy at walmart, more punch and respond better then cold cells. The neu motors will be damaged until there are overheated to 180c!

Steve is not a believer in the A123 technology, heavy because of the lower voltage per cell issues and cannot deliver the same discharge as lipos but are good in certain applications..not cars.tough to get the same mah out of the same package at this point. Great conversation and good prices on excellent packs!

Interesting. I know the numbers agree with Steve, but I have to say for my "seat of the pants" fun - the A123's I've run have given just as much discharge as my Neu lipos have. Definitely not as much runtime and heavier, but great punch.

Has anybody tried the 5c charge versions? 15 min charges would be a dream!
You'd need a hell of a charger though!

Yes it is true...if you have charger and a power supply capable of 25 amps for a 5000mah pack etc.

I have a plenty large power supply, I just don't know of a charger that will put out 25 amps or enough power for 4s and up packs, even if the amperage was there.
