WHAT, the car version? If so, I'll send my HV110 that went up in smoke and pay the repair for the highest AMP ICE HV version. Now is that the 160A or a 200A Steve Neu mentioned in rcgroups?

No no, the airplane version. The "normal" version. Sorry, I misunderstood.

The ICE-200 is the 8S maximum airplane version. The F5B guys are running around 400A (for about 10-20 second bursts) in their sailplanes. The ICE-160HV is the same form factor, but 12S maximum

No, my fault as normal for me is car only . I have never flown anything except my vehicles . So I guess I'll wait for the car ICE 12S and 8S version then.

The real issue is braking energy. If the Phx-ICE design is tough enough for braking energies (it wasn't designed to be a car controller!) then we won't need to update hardware. If we run into braking issues, we may have to tweak the design a bit, or add some external hardware.
If it is just a software update, Can it be used on any ice esc? or, will it be limited to the 200 amp and or the 160 amp? I like the design and would like to run them in smaller scales (1/10 to 1/16) thanks.

Edit: I got one problem, i see two different sets if ice hv esc's
These: http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...oenix_ice.html

and these:http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...ix_ice_hv.html

Which one are we talking about?

IF (and that's a big IF) we find that we can use the Mamba software without any hardware changes on the ICE hardware, then yes, it will only be a download, and it will work on either the ICE or ICE-HV. The ICE will likely be limited to 6S, and the ICE-HV to 10S for car use (due to braking energy...)

I'm ready when you're ready.

I want one of these really bad.

I think the popularity of this thread says something about the level of interest in this project.

Thanks Patrick, 6S is all i need for smaller sizes. I'm honestly more intrested in the data logging setup. 8S or 10S would be intresting with my 2250/11turn lehner (1184kv)
