Opinions on this battery - 05.06.2008, 08:29 PM

With the MMM on the way from Mike (or at least I am part of the second pre-sale) I am getting the 8ight T ready to run... FINALLY!!! I don't have any batteries with the voltage and amperage needed for the truck.

Anyhow here is the info:
Losi 8ight T
Neu 1515 1y
I was thinking of this battery:
http://www.allerc.com/product_info.p...oducts_id=3183

The price is right, $200 for a 5s 5350 mAH using Enerland cells but it is only 16c cont and 24c burst.

Do you all think it will have enough juice for the 8ight T Or do you think the Neu will drain it too fast and kill the battery?

I think you'd be disappointed with that pack. It would really really lack punch. For that kind of money you can get something MUCH better.

For a budget pack, this one's great from my experience:
5S1P 5000mAh 20-30C pack for $107: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6352

I run the 4s version of this and have had very good luck. I'm ordering 2 more as soon as they're in stock. I think some other guys on the forum are running these as well.

I've run a 1515/1y in an 8ight-T and just ordered another one(8T) to put my new Monster in as well. I would recomend at least a 20c pack and no less than 4000 mah. My enerland cell 3700, 20c pack does fine but the 5000, 20c pack blows it away. The 16c Hyperion will push the truck but might not get you over that "big triple" with the short rollup. For another $50 bucks you could have a Flight Power or Polyquest 25c, 5000 pack; money well spent!

Just re-read and saw the 24c burst spec.; It might not even get you over the "mediem double" out of the corner. Need at least 40c burst capability.

Nice! It'll be nice to see you running the losi again. Unfortunately I never got to see your revo. You racing this week end? I should be there with my 1/10th scale stuff. My Feigao or Mamba Max died on me last saturday on the 3rd lap of the 1st quali. I don't know what happened.

Anyway, what Chapito said. He's got a lot of experience with that truck and motor setup. You'll likely need a 40c burst to get decent punch over jumps in a truggy. I run a buggy so the 35c seems to do me well. The batteries I linked you to work awesomely for the buggy so far after 10 cycles.

I was all set on a 1515/2D until I saw it includes the planetary gear box for $110.00

That's lame! Anyway, the battery prices looked about the same as what Neu sells them direct for so I skipped on those.

yeah they only have a few left in stock. I got their last 1105 and I settled for the 2.5y version when I would have preferred a little higher on the kv it will still be great. I just couldn't pass it up for $73.

Looking again it seems that the 5s 30c neu pack was on the web page at the same price as the 4s. I know direct from Neu the 4s is $245 and the 5s ia $299.
Maybe it is just the motors that are on sale.
