New Plan... "Getting the E-warhead Running" -
05.18.2008, 08:50 AM
Ok I thought of a new idea the other day of running dual systems in my warhead due to the fact that I have two MM's. All I need will be two outrunners. Heres my idea. I have a very strong platform layout on the bottom of my chassis made of .30 plexiglass. I want to be able to run dual 41/20 stator outrunners with dual MM's. One powers the rear diffs and one powers the front. I will either be running dual 4s setup most likely. I dont want to run a single bigger outrunner due to the fact that their is such a low kv rating and I will need some good HV lipos which are expensive and its stuff that the MM wont be able to handle. What do you think of the idea?

Are the gray lines behind the outrunners the mounts for them? If so it would be better to mount them both like the bottom one with the mount at the driving end to reduce flex.

I would also mount then end to end, to keep the drive angles as low as possible. Otherwise you will wear the center driveshafts.
Put the drive cup on the mount end, like rc monkey said. It will reduce the bearing loads, and not stress the mounts as much.
Also parallel the batteries and the escs on the power side. That will help that both escs see almost exactly the same voltage, thuc the motors spin the same. The rear motor will pull mosre power and run hotter. That is what happens with 2 motor systems like that.

so you would parrallel, then de-parrallel the motor so they are drawin of a 4s2p battery and both getting the exact same voltage

No, parallel the two pbattery packs together, and parallel the power input wires of the two mm escs.

Ok then Ill take a look into yet another 5s lipo with higher mah. Most likely around 5000mah if running off both MM's.

If possible stick the motors closer to each diff and stick the batteries across the middle of the truck between the motor. Biggest problem might be getting the correct length drive shafts though.
Savage: FLM Conversion, 6s, MMM, CC 1520.
Mini-T Pro: Micro Pro 6800kv, Lipo, HS-81mg, Dirt Hawgs
M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo
LRP S8-BX: RC-M Conversion, Tekin RX8 B1600KV, 6S.

get two of the Warheads front centers, its only like 60 mm long. if i had the choice, i would make a sleeve (8mm ID) and like 12mm OD, drill holes for setscrews. Then u can run the motor ON the pinion and not have to wory about driveshafts
