Motor for a MBX5T other then a Neu? - 06.02.2008, 06:21 AM

Im thinking about making a truggy conversion. A Mugen MBX5T Prospec....
Would a Feigao 8XL with Monster Max, Polyquest 4S, 5000mah do a good job or is a feigao to weak? (I have all these stuf already except for the roller) Im thinking maybe 12T RCM mod1 piniong (46T spur) gearing. Or is it Neu or nothing?

I used to use feigaos on my revo back when I had it and they do the job fine, but they do tend to get hot. I ran an 8xl on 4s and it ran really hot, but then went to a 10xl on 5s and it cooled way down and I gained a lot of power.

kinda have to run more voltage on a slower motor to get them to run at a good temp.

it isnt that they are weak but to get good performance out of them the Fiegao's run hot

I know that they run on the hot side. I have 8XL, MM, PQ setup in my MBX5, but now i want to get a MBX5T..... i have no heat issues at all, but a truggy is heavier, larger wheels.... so i guess there will be allot more heat in a truggy rather then a buggy.

Agreed...If you plan to race. There are enough variables as it is. Take the motor variable out of the equation and get a Neu.
