Emaxx Wheel Adapters

Have a wheel adapter ?.
I just finished building my 95% all alum Emaxx up from a gorillla max chassis. I'm running the Novak HV maxx BL setup. I bought some 40 series Proline Road Rage tires and bead lock rims to try and stick the truck to the pavement. I got the rims today an noticed they are 23MM and not 14mm like the stock Emaxx. Any good suggestions for any adapters ? I found these, Are they any good.

those r proline rims rights?
then go with proline 23mm adapters or go to the UE site and they lso have 23mm adapters

RCM Mike has the Dace adapters too. The Dace uses 22mm or 7/8" sockets whereas the Proline's need a 23mm wrench which you may need to buy from Proline as well. I have the Dace adapters, and they are pretty nice. I bought Dace because of advice from other RCM forum members. No regrets!

EDIT: the Dace adapters are available in black or blue.

For the 10 dollars in price difference i would get the Dace adaptors..

They look so much better, plus i don't like the idea that the aluminum ring is held by only the small bolt. at a side impact it's more likely that the shaft will snap. the stress that's directly on the thread is larger.

You kind of lost me with that small bolt serum.

I have ran both the 23mm adapters. I have the proline and the dace. The dace seem to stay tight better. The washer around the outside seems to hold better. The dace will alsot fit the ue cvds as the proline will not.

My vote goes to dace.

I like the Dace adapters as well, I have 2 sets -- one on my Revo and one on my Emaxx. They look and work great and fit right over the stock hex. Mike sells them in the new stuff section.

Looking at those adapters, my guess is that they wouldn't be as good as the Prolines. They use the same drive method where the 23mm hex is driven by the pin through the axle. The fact that they use the same stock axle nut to hold them on is weak IMO. I think this drive pin is what Serum was referring to coolhand.

As coolhandcountry said, the Dace will work with many CVDs or even the stock sliders because the Dace fits over the 14mm nut. The adapters you linked or the Proline will only work with shafts that have the pin through the axle. UE drive axles have flats to drive the 14mm nut instead of a pin through them. So if you are running UE CVDs or plan to, I'd say the only way to go is Dace.

No, the drivepin is nice! in fact, it's great. It is 7075 aluminum and will not deform faster than 6061 hexes.

It's the M5 bolt that gets more stress to it than with the proline/daces. (it's because of the large ring that needs to hold it tight.)

I don't know what you are referring to as the drive pin then if it isn't part of what comes with the Dace assembly.

I misunderstood you. i thought you said the drivepin was a weak point of those 23mm hexes, though this drivepin construction is strong. But that was not what you meant. You are refering to the M5 nut.

But what this all started about was what I meant as the M5 nut. the stress on the M5 nut is much bigger with those large rings with a sideimpact on the wheels (the rings that hold the wheel to the 23mm hex)

i'd stay away from integy alu parts.
they are weak.
